Clinical practice before the first real client

Practice therapy
before your first
real patient.

Realistic simulated patients with defenses, silences and emotional histories. Type, or speak out loud and hear them answer. A supervisor who reads every word, and memory that carries the relationship from one session to the next.

Three steps from signup to clinical insight

Choose a patient case

Browse a library of clinically grounded patient profiles, each built from published case literature with a distinct psychological structure.

Depression & low mood Emotional avoidance Scrupulosity (OCD) Create your own simulated patient

Talk with your patient

Type, or speak out loud and hear the answer. Your patient responds in character, with hesitations, deflections, emotional shifts and moments of unexpected openness. They are never predictable.

Get supervisor feedback

After each session, a supervisor reads the full transcript and delivers detailed feedback: what you missed, what landed, and what to focus on next time.

Say it out loud. Hear the patient answer.

Typing lets you delete, rethink and polish every sentence. The room does not. In a voice session you think while you speak, sit through the silence while the patient thinks, and hear the hesitation you would otherwise only read.

  • Hold to speak, release to send. A short tap keeps the microphone open for a longer answer.
  • Every patient has a voice of their own, matched to their age and gender, and it stays the same in every session.
  • Nothing is written on screen while you talk, just like in the room. The full transcript and the supervisor report arrive when the session ends.
  • Interrupt the patient mid sentence when the moment calls for it, or ask for a hint: the session pauses, the patient falls silent and the hint appears in writing.
  • Your recording is turned into text and never stored. Switch back to text at any moment.

Included in the paid plan. Free sessions are in text. Voice works in both English and Turkish.

The only way to learn therapy is to do therapy. PsyPractice is the closest thing to doing it without doing it.

Why we built PsyPractice

Watch your clinical instincts grow, measurably.

Every supervisor report scores five core microskills. PsyPractice tracks them across all your sessions, so you can see exactly where you started and how far you've come. Not a vague sense of progress, but a number.

Start building your track record Your first session sets your baseline. Every session after raises it.

The only practice tool that remembers who you are as a therapist.

Memory across sessions

Patients remember every session: the last one in detail, older ones more faintly, and the sentences of yours that stayed with them. Their trust in you, or their wariness, builds up over time, just like in real therapy. How you handled session two shapes what's possible in session five.

Patient profiles grounded in evidence

Every patient profile is synthesised from real clinical literature, not invented. They present the way actual clients present: mixed messages, contradictions, and pain that is hard to put into words.

Alliance score tracking

The therapeutic relationship is quantified session by session. You can see whether you're building or damaging trust, and learn why before it matters with a real person.

Zero risk to real people

Make every mistake here first. Misread a cue, choose the wrong intervention, rupture the alliance, and learn from it in a space where no one gets hurt.

Built for the early years of clinical practice

Psychology undergraduates

Building clinical intuition before you ever set foot in a practicum. Understand what therapeutic relationships actually feel like: the silences, the defenses, the breakthroughs.

Graduate & doctoral students

Preparing for your first supervised cases. Use PsyPractice to explore intervention styles (person centred, CBT, psychodynamic) before committing to an approach with a real person.

New & early career clinicians

Licensed but still finding your footing? Practice complex presentations (trauma, personality disorders, resistant clients) in a space where mistakes become learning, not liability.

What people ask before they start

Is the free plan really free?
Yes. You pick a client from the case library and run three text sessions, each with a complete supervisor report and a few hints per session. No card, nothing to set up. When you want more clients, more sessions or voice, you move to the paid plan.
Who are the simulated patients?
Each profile is built from published clinical literature at the level of mechanisms: every symptom, defense and core belief traces back to a documented construct. No patient is a copy of a real person, and the narrative is written only on top of that record. No clinical claim is ever invented.
What does the supervisor actually evaluate?
It reads the whole transcript, including the hints you used and where. It rates five microskills (empathy, reflection, question quality, focus, rapport) from fifteen observable items, names the cues you missed, and sets one focus for your next session. Your private session notes count too: a topic you deliberately parked is not marked as missed.
Do patients remember earlier sessions?
Yes. Alliance, belief intensity and what they have already told you carry over. They remember the last session in detail and earlier ones more faintly, they come back to the homework you gave (done, half done, avoided or forgotten), and a sentence of yours that landed hard, for better or worse, can resurface weeks later. A week passes between sessions in the patient's life. If a relationship goes badly, you can reset it and start the case again from its baseline.
Can I speak instead of typing?
On the paid plan, yes. Hold the microphone button or the Space bar, speak, and let go; the patient answers in their own voice. Nothing is written on screen during a voice session, and the transcript and supervisor report arrive when it ends, exactly as after a text session. You can switch to text at any moment, and if audio fails the session carries on in text. Your recording is turned into text and never stored. Voice works in both English and Turkish. Free sessions are text only.
Does this replace supervised training or give a certificate?
No. PsyPractice is practice software, not a course. It issues no certificates and does not replace clinical supervision or your programme's placements. It is the rehearsal room you use before and between them.
Who can see my sessions?
You do. The PsyPractice team can also access them to run the service and fix technical problems. Transcripts are stored on servers in the EU. In a voice session your recording is turned into text and never stored. An instructor can see your sessions only if you join their cohort and give separate, explicit consent on a screen that names them. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time.
Which languages does it work in?
English and Turkish for now, with more languages on the way. And not just the interface: the patient, the supervisor report, the hints and your progress themes are all produced in the language you choose. Voice sessions work in both. You can switch at any time.
Can I cancel a paid plan?
Any time, from inside the app. You keep the paid allowance until the end of the period you already paid for. Your cases, reports and progress stay; to run new sessions afterwards you pick a plan again.
